Wow...it has been such a long time since I have last posted. Well, a quick update is in order I suppose. In the months that I have not update: we moved twice, had no internet, gained a grandson, and a bunch of other not so much fun stuff happened. Crazy...I know.

Soo...I finally have internet again and will hopefully be able to continue posting on a regular basis. It's hard when you have a crazy 4 year old and also have a baby on the way, due in December. But I am sure every mom blogger knows this reality....yet they all seem to make it work somehow! I really want to get back to doing reviews and possibly giveaways. But I am definitely going to have to take it slowly.

Anyway, it feels good to be back. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things and really make something of this blog.

Baby News

Well, Baby #2 is not going to be due in November. We have a new due date: December 11th. Still, I am happy with that. The baby should still be here for Christmas. Yay!

Like I said, my periods are wonky and I have never been one to be consistent with them. I had a period in February. I missed my March period not because I was pregnant though...just because my body decided that I was gonna miss that one. I normally have a period on the 10th through the 15th {well, normally means when I do have them} and I took a test on the 17th of March and it came out negative. Took another one and that too was negative. Missed again in April. I started having tenderness in my breasts and felt like stuff was happening in my uterus...which is not something I had ever experienced before. So when I missed April's period I took a test and sure enough it was positive. So that means that my body just loved me and didn't want to provide me with a March period and then let me get pregnant after that period would have ended. LMAO. Somehow I was really surprised that I was pregnant, yet I just knew that I was at the same time. After a blood test to confirm, it started to really sink in.

It didn't really sink in though until yesterday. I had an OB appointment to measure the fetus to get a more accurate due date. The little bugger was only about 1 inch long or so, which is consistent with a March conception {9 weeks 4 days...well, 9 weeks 5 days now}...not consistent with their original projected date of November 18th {conception in February and would have been 13 weeks today}.

Either way, I was so excited to see that little fetus. It made my heart happy. I got to share the moment with my fiancée and our 3 year old. He didn't want to go in with us, but once he was in there he was so excited to see that little fetus on the big screen. We were actually able to hear a heartbeat which was unexpected. 171. Fast! I have heard all the old wives tales...which say with a heartbeat that fast it could be a girl. But I don't really know what to think at this point.

I don't really believe in all those old wives tales but they are certainly fun to entertain even for just a short while.

I am 25, and I concevied in March {just after I turned 25 too!!}, so by this I
am having another little boy. When I had Lawson, I was 20 at the time of
conception and I conceived in September...and it was correct. I had us a
little boy.

It's a girl! (Chinese Age 26 at Lunar month 2)

This one says a girl is what I am in store for. I don't know the exact day
of conception, so I just went back 9 weeks and 4 days. And I went with
the 13th...but my period would not have been over at that point. I redid it
a few more times and all the March dates I put in came up with girl...so who
knows!!

What do you think?? Boy or Girl?? I would be happy with either. As long as it
is healthy and happy.

Fill in the Blank Friday!

This week I am participating in Lauren's Fill in the Blank Friday. Head over there to participate too. Here goes.

1. What I love most about my home is the sunlight it lets it. I love spring and summer light from the sun. Gorgeous. The way it reflects off the wall. The shadows it casts on certain areas. Love it.

2. I'm excited because, I just discovered a Montessori Summer Camp program. I really want to send my little guy to it in July. They offer it for 4 weeks and you can sign up for 2, 3, or 4 weeks. I am thinking 2 weeks would be good for Lawson. Just gotta come up with $360 now!!

3. My preferred method for blowing off steam when I'm frustrated is to eat. But I try to yell and scream into my pillow or talk to myself when no ones else is around. Usually, I can talk myself through something, so that I am not yelling at the next person I see {usually that would be my 3.5 year old or my fiancée}.

4. Currently I am craving fruit, yogurt, chicken wings, chicken wing pizza, antipasto salad...you name it, I want it! I am pregnant so...that could be the cause for these cravings!!

5. The thing I love most about my mom is that she is unique. She speaks her mind when you ask, but not when you don't. She tries to tell the truth in all situations unless someone has asked her not to divulge something. She loves my sister and I very much and would pretty much do anything to make sure we are okay, healthy, and happy. She loves he grandson so much too.

6. If I was going to write a book about my life, the title would be Everything In Between. All the little things that go on in my life. My sons life.

7. If I were to eat one thing for the rest of eternity it would be hmm...crostini's. French bread slices with butter, pesto, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese.So yummy fresh out of the over. And truthfully, I think I like them even better when they are cold from being in the fridge overnight. Delicious.

Happy News!

Happy news for my fiancée and I! I am pregnant! Yaaaaayyyyy!! We are really excited. Lawson is 3.5 years old and he is so excited to be getting another brother or sister. He has 3 siblings that are much older then him {from my fiancées previous marriage} whom he adores. But since none of them are living with us {at this given time} it would be awesome for him to have a sibling at home with him everyday to play with.

We would be happy with a boy or a girl. Either way, it doesn't matter to use. As long as the baby is healthy and I have an easy pregnancy. I had a very easy and uneventful pregnancy with Lawson 4 years ago...so I don't expect too much to be different. The only thing that might be different is my blood pressure was pretty high the other day and it looks like I might need meds for that...not cool when you are only 25. And I am overweight (not just a few pounds either}...and while the doctor has not said this to me yet, I already know that weight gain during this pregnancy is NOT an option. I actually need to gradually shed some pounds as the pregnancy progresses. So it looks like I will be doing lots of walking this summer.

So far it looks like we are due November 18th. But, I am wonky with my periods, so it actually could be December as well. I have an ultrasound next week on the 12th which will include a crown to rump measurement and it will give us a much better idea of the due date in conjunction with my last period. I am hoping for November, but December would be great too. Either way, the baby should be here in time for Christmas. Awesome!!

Anyway, that's my exciting news for the day! Have a good one.

In my eyes, getting ready for Spring and Summer weather is always a ton of fun! I get to choose some new toys for my little guy to play with. I get to bring out the water toys. He gets to ride on his kid size 4-wheeler and his tricycle. My son loves to be outdoors during the warm months and having stuff out there to keep him entertained is key. I have never done one of these before...but it looked like fun, so I though I would join! You can check out the hosts {Lauren} answers and join the fun at the little things we do. Here are my answers!

1. I am currently obsessed with OWLS. They are just so cute and bookish. I love their big eyes and little beaks. Adorable. Seriously contemplating doing the nursery of our next child {when we have another that is!!} all OWLS!!

2. Today I am elated because, my mom and her boyfriend are leaving for vacation which means Andy, Lawson and I get to house sit and it will be nice a quiet and relaxing without them here....selfish, I know.

3. The age I am is 24 and the age I feel is probably more like 35. I guess it's because we financial struggles and family issues {like a lot of people I assume} and it really stresses me out. It seems like everyone else has it all figured out and we...well, don't.

4. My favorite place is in in Andy's arms. Simple as that. Oh...and wherever Lawson is. :)

5. Something I have been procrastinating is paying off my debt...the bane of my existence and the reason for my answer to question #3.

6. The last thing I purchased was a birthday gift for a birthday party we are going to tomorrow...yay for BARBIES!! .

7. The thing I love most about my home is the natural light from the big windows...it's bright and comforting. I don't like homes that are too dark and blah. I love that when the sun set's it casts a really nice glow on the house and illuminates the living room and the bedrooms. It's eerie but soothing at the same time....if that is possible!

Review: EcoMom and Melissa & Doug Jumbo Numbers Puzzle

I love getting fun and educational toys for my 3 year old. I like them to be bright and cheery...but without all the noise. I like them to educate without being boring. I want them to hold his interest.

With that being said, I recently was given the chance to review a Melissa and Doug Jumbo Numbers Puzzle provided to me by EcoMom. Check it out:

As soon as I opened the box, my son was asking if the puzzle was for him. He was so happy when I said yes. I tore off the wrap, and he was off with the puzzle. He immediately started counting out loud. Then he preceded to take all the puzzle pieces off the board and then started matching them and putting them back in place. He was naming the animals and counting them. I helped him out by showing him that there were five giraffes and that was were the number 5 went, etc.

I love that the pieces to the puzzles are thick and chunky..great for little hands. They are not going to break easily. They are super easy to put in there respective places on the puzzle board...not too tight or too loose. I also like that the board it's self is sturdy and not going to break easily if thrown...yep, my son has already tossed the board around quite a bit!
Overall: I LOVE THIS PUZZLE!! It is lovely to look at and I had fun helping my little guy with it.

Wow...I just realized how long it has been since I posted. It's been awhile!

I just went through all my buttons...tons of them were not working {or needed to be changed}. I cut a lot of them out. It makes my blog a lot easier to load and not so cluttered. I just left up the buttons to my very favorite blogs.

I feel so much better now!

I really should post more. But, I spend more time entering giveaways then anything else when I am online.

At least I can be honest with myself. ha

I have been really lucky this past year with giveaways. I won several and it really helped round out Christmas for my son and others in my family. Truthfully...money is tight...I did what I could to make it special for Lawson. I have won a few already in the new year. I will be saving the majority of my wins over the next few months for Lawson's birthday in June and then for Christmas 2011.

Andy and I are looking forward to tax time so we can move.Quarters are tight right now...it would be really nice to spread out a bit. And for Lawson to have a room of his own again. His toys are taking over. Plus, it would give me big incentive to go through all of his stuff and starting making a donate pile {or 10}. I will be doing the same for my things, Andy's things, and the rest of the stuff we have in our two storage units {yuck...2! that is crazy....and expensive}. If we have been going this long without the stuff do we really need it? I doubt that we need it all. But I know that as soon as I open my units I will be like, "Hey, I have been wondering where that was!" or "Man, I really needed that two months ago.".

We are looking for places in the Twin Tiers NY/PA area. Since Andy works in Tioga, Pa it would make sense to live in Pennsylvania. So that is where the main focus of our search is. But, we are not opposed to staying in NY either...as long as it is close enough to the border to make traveling to work as easy as possible {and uses as little gas as possible}.

I recently had the opportunity to review a product from CSN. I decided to be practical and chose an Omega Paw Roll'n Clean Litter Box. I choose the large size for two reason. One, I have two cats. Two, one of my cats is pretty large herself and I wanted to be sure she has ample room to do her business.

Description from CSN:

The unique patented grill inside the Roll'n Clean scoops out the clumped waste, depositing it into the pull-out tray. Just roll the litter box onto its top, and roll back to the up-right position. Remove the tray and dispose of waste!.

This is the litter box straight from the box it arrived in. I was immediately impressed with its size. And the colors are great as well: a nice mossy green top and khaki base.

The cardboard piece that keeps everything together had detailed pictures of the steps to removing the fecal matter when it is time to change the litter.

Here are the four pieces that make up the litter box laid out. The top, the base, the grill screen, and the pull out tray.

This is the base with the grill screen in place. This will separate the clean litter from the fecal matter when you are rolling the box to get rid of the waste.

This is the litter box completed. I placed the lid on and snapped it securely into place. I also added the litter scoop tray as well.

I added a bit of litter just for the sake of showing you what it would look like with litter. :)

I put more litter in later and let the cats go about there business. I was not sure if they would be willing to use a new litter box...but, it was not an issue for either of them. When it comes time to clean the box, you just roll the litter box to the right (and the clean litter will go through the grill screen) and the waste matter will fall into the pull out try. Then you roll it back into the upright position and pull out the tray and dump the waste. EASY!! For me, the feces easily fell into the tray when I was rolling the box...but the pee clumps didn't because they stuck to the base. I still had to take the lid off and manually clean them out with my scooper from the other litter box...which kind of defeats the purpose of this litter box. I didn't take pictures of the actual litter that I was able to clean from the box...because, really, do you want to see my cats poo??!!

{Final thoughts overall}: This IS an easy way to clean your litter box without having to use a scooper. We do keep our scooper next to the box to clean any pee clumps that do not fall with the fecal clumps {which is about 50% of the time}. And I have not had to manually remove any of the fecal clumps at all! BIG +

If I need another litter box....yes, I would purchase it again. It does make my litter duty easier. The price is a little high...but, since I am doing half the amount of scooping as I was before, I feel that it is worth it.

I HAVE A BUTTON! YEA!!! And it is sooooo PRETTY!!! I had been wanting one, but honestly had do idea how to make one...and was too embarrassed to ask someone. So, the other day, I was contacted by Davney over at Giveaways For Mom. She wanted to do a button exchange. I was more than willing to add her button to my blog. Elk Kids Shoes review

I recently won a pair of Elk Kids shoes from An Island Life. I got to pick a pair of shoes from their website. I choose the Miles shoes. A cute combination of gray, ivory, and yellow. I got them in size 9 with the thought that my son would be able to grow into them. We got them in the mail and put them on him right away. They are big on him. If he runs around, they easily fly off. But it's okay, we just set them aside for the fall, when he will fit into them with no problem. I think that they are super cute and my son really likes them. They kind of remind me of retro bowling shoes. The material is super soft leather. The shoes are really flexible...the soles are not super hard. And they are easy to clean, Lawson got one nice dirt swipe when he tried them on, and it came right off.

Fluff the Butt Cloth Diaper Event at The Eco-Cheap Mom!

I have recently discovered cloth diapers as being an option to diaper your baby as opposed to the conventional disposable diapers. My 2 and a half year old wants nothing to do with cloth. :( I am very saddened by that. I have won several cloth diapers and really wanted him to take to them. Not just because they are cute, but because they would save me money and unnecessary waste in the landfills. No such luck. But, that is not stopping me from stocking up anyway. You see...eventually, we plan to have another baby. And there will be no Huggies or Pampers with the next one. The next baby will not even have a choice. Not that my son has a choice....it's just that he will not let me put one on him. He walks right over to where is other diapers are and hands me one of them. Anyway, I enter tons of giveaways for cloth diapers and with a bit of luck now and then, I win one here and there.

We Have A Winner!

Hi guys. I want to start off with an apology. My family and I moved this past week and I then had to wait for my internet service to be installed in our new place. I also have a herniated disc in my back and have been on bed rest until tomorrow morning when I have surgery. So I running a bit behind am trying to do some catching up!

CSN TABLE TOP EASEL REVIEW (and Le Creuset Baking Dish giveaway!)

There is a wonderful online shoppers paradise out there. And it is called CSNstores.com. They have EVERYTHING!!

I recently won a KidKraft Table Top Easel for my son. This came from the All Children's Furniture store. I chose the espresso finish. But it also comes in a more natural finish as well.

This easel is so cool. It has a dry erase board on one side and a chalk board on the other. I also has wood strips that hold paper in place too. So not only can my son use chalk and dry erase markers to create art, but he can also color with crayons, regular markers, and even do finger painting. It also comes with two paint cups (and there are two nifty spots for them on the easel) and an eraser.

This easel is a great space saver. It folds for storage too. But, my favorite thing about it, is that it is really sturdy. It will last a long time in my house....and my son can be pretty rough on stuff. I love that it is not one of the taller free standing ones...that could easily tip over and fall.

I also like the price. I think that $44.95 is a great price for something like this. And I like that because it is tabletop...it can even last into your child's teen years. It would make for a great homework or chore list. You can purchase this easel right here.
